What's it like working at Educated Body?

We asked some our existing, talented team members for about their experiences of working for Educated Body. Here's what they had to say:

   

Michael Simmons

Gym & Spa Manager

Q. What did you do before joining Educated Body?

A. I was working and travelling around the world for 5 years while also keeping an online PT business going.

 

Q. What is your role in the Company now and where did you start?

A. I am currently a General Manager and Master PT; I began as an Assistant General Manager and PT.

 

Q. What do you like most about working for Educated Body?

A. I love the Personal Training, this never feels like work. I also enjoy the collective community feel not just with the residents on site but also within the staff. There is always somewhere there to listen and help when needed.

 

Q. What would be your best piece of advice for someone new joining the Company?

A. Spend time with other employees,  ask lots of questions and ask for help when it's needed. This is the best way learn and grow.

   

Calven Clack 

Gym & Spa Manager

I joined Educated Body in 2021 as a Duty Manager working across different sites while learning from amazing managers and mentors along the way. Through my journey with them, I have progressed to become a general manager at one of their larger sites.

Educated Body has provided amazing support on my journey to become a manager and with them and with the help from Amy at 4 Leisure I was able to find my dream job.

 

Q. What did you do before joining Educated Body?

A. Before Joining Educated Body, I was a personal trainer and head trainer at Bodytec in South Africa. This has been my first job while starting fresh in a new country which I have been lucky to find.

 

Q. What is your role in the Company now and where did you start?

A. I am currently a General Manager and where I started with the company as a Duty Manager in 2021.

 

Q. What do you like most about working for Educated Body?

A. I really enjoy the support each member of the team receives.  I have learnt and grown with the support of other managers and enjoy working with this amazing team. The socials are really fun too!

 

Q. What would be your best piece of advice for someone new joining the Company?

A. Get to know as many members of the team as possible and don’t be shy to ask questions. We can learn so much from each other. 

 

Tony Marke

Campus Fit Gym Manager

Q. What did you do before joining Educated Body?

A. I’ve been lucky enough to have been in the health & fitness industry for the past 20+ years. I worked for Nuffield Health based at the site I am at now with EB, before the amazing transformation. Unfortunately, I was forced to take an 18-month Covid-Career break where I was reading water meters for Southeast Water! My last fitness-based role was a Platinum Personal Trainer at David Lloyd in Farnham.

 

Q. What do you like most about working for Educated Body?

A. I love the relaxed, friendly work environment that has been created throughout the company. The support from colleague is amazing and everyone I’ve met so far has been down to earth and approachable, unlike anywhere else I’ve ever worked.

 

Q. What would be your best piece of advice for someone new joining the Company?

A. “If in doubt, ask” There’s no such thing as a silly question. There’s plenty of people within EB only too willing to help.
